Last night, I came home from my trip to Zermatt. I decided to leave one day early in order to assist my sister in preparing her birthday party on Saturday. She will be 26 - which somehow seems unreal, it seems like yesterday when we last were at each other's throats.

Zermatt was simply terrific. I went there with my parents and a friendly couple of theirs. He was pretty impressed by me since I managed to solve an issue for him and his wife in particular. Nobody else had been able to bail him out. To make a long story short, he shipped a 6-foot-large-wooden giraffe from Namibia to his home town in Swtzerland. The freight was supposed to arrive in Switzerland between 2-3 working days. Unfortunately, the giraffe never arrived and, in addition, he had lost the tracking number.

This year, the weather in Zermatt was simply great. Last time I was there, winds on the Klein Matterhorn were so strong that my mom was having a hard time breathing.

  1. I am pleased you had a nice time in Zermatt.
Sometime I will stay at the Kulm hotel (3100), I swear it!
I love the old-style postcard of Zermatt. I bought a few of those old-looking postcards while there - as well as a funny t-shirt that my husband enjoys about the "essential tool for generations - Victorinox" - showing a homonid-like evoloution of the swiss army knife.
That was a very funny and odd story about the shipping of the giraffe. I can't quite picture how you would have helped the situation out - soothing words?
When I was 8 we lost an artificial Christmas tree which never showed up on the baggage carousel, on the trip from Madrid to N.Y.C. I regretted that.
I hope your sister will have a nice birthday!
(My 3 kids are currently at each other's throats many times each day.)
